A STARRY voice cast including Jennifer Connelly, Elijah Wood and Christopher Plummer feature in 9 (12A), the latest animated movie to be released this autumn. Set in the near future, the film tells the story about a potential war between man and machine.

Powered by an invention known as The Great Machine, the world's machines have turned on mankind and decimated much of the human population.

Many of the machines have now been shut down but a small group of beings managed to survive the apocalypse and continue to exist. One of them, known only as 9, has the leadership and survival skills that may enable them all to thrive.

To do so, they will have to summon the sort of strength they've never displayed before, and outwit and fight against some of the still-functioning machines. 9 is now showing nationwide.

With a cast including Carey Mulligan, Peter Sarsgaard and Dominic Cooper, An Education was penned for the big screen by wellknown author Nick Hornby.

Based on a coming-of-age story originally written by a British journalist, the movie is set in the sixties and centres on an attractive 16-year-old schoolgirl named Jenny (Mulligan).

Bored with her mundane life, the teenager can't wait for adulthood and the freedom which it brings.

But she takes on more than she bargains for when she becomes involved with a charming older man named David (Sarsgaard). He even manages to win over her strict parents.

The teenager is thrown into a glamorous, urbane life of concerts and dinner parties with David and his friends (Dominic Cooper and Rosemund Pike).

But there is more to her older suitor than meets the eye. An Education is now showing at selected cinemas.
