What is the Independent Newsstand
The Independent Newsstand (previously known as the Digital Edition) provides access to an exact electronic replica of The Irish Independent, Sunday Independent, Herald and Sunday World printed newspapers. You can access the Newsstand on your desktop or on your iOS or Android device.
How do I purchase papers in the Independent Newsstand?
Access to Independent Newsstand is better value as part of a Digital subscription, available for purchase HERE . You can subscribe to your favourite newspapers with a value-packed plan that best fits your reading habit. Single issues of any edition can also be purchased in-App from your App Store.
How do I access my papers in Independent Newsstand?
You can access your papers on your desktop (Sign in HERE ) or you can use the drop down Subscribe button at the top right corner of the website. You can also download the app onto your iOS or Android device.
Sign in using the email address and unique Pin Number you used when you purchased your subscription.

Can I buy an edition of a newspaper through the AppStore/ Google play store?
Yes, you can purchase a single edition through the App Store or the Google play store. Please download the app from the relevant store. Choose the title you wish to purchase, select the date and proceed to purchase through the relevant store.
When is today’s Newsstand edition available to download?
Every edition is available by 3am GMT Monday to Sunday.
How do I search?
To search an for an article, tap the Search icon in the top right corner, enter your keywords and select Search. You must be logged in to search and your search will be across all your subscribed titles. For example, if you are subscribed to Sunday World and Herald and search for Fat Freddie your results will display all articles on Fat Freddie published in those titles. Select an article to view - you may have to download the edition if you have not done so already by selecting Show Publication.
Can I read my newspaper when I am not in a wifi zone?
Yes, just download the full edition in a wifi zone and you will be able to read that edition any time. You can also download an edition using your own data network.
Can I delete ePaper editions from my Smartphone / tablet?
To delete editions, select My Downloads. Hold down the title you wish to delete and select Delete when prompted.
How do I enable Autodelete?
You can also enable Autodelete, which will delete issues that are older than a specified period, 1 day, 3 days, 7 days, 2 weeks or 1 month. Choose My Downloads and choose the Autodelete icon on the top right hand corner of the screen, (the bin with the arrows around it) and choose the Autodelete period you would like.
Can I save an edition from being deleted?
Yes, go to My downloads and select the padlock above the edition you want to save. When the padlock closes, this edition cannot be auto deleted.
How do I listen to the ePaper?
The audio function is available on iPad and iPhone. You can turn on the audio by following these instructions:
The gestures for navigation around the iPad/iPhone will change after this is switched on. For example, three fingers, instead of just one, are required to swipe from screen to screen. To open an app you must first select it with one tap and then double tap it. Select an article to listen. Follow the voice instructions.
Print a Receipt
Q: How do I print my Receipt?
A: You will be emailed a receipt every month that you can use to print a copy.
Q: What are Bookmarks?
A: You can save articles to read later. Simply, select the star icon to save articles to read later. When you want to read your saved article select the Bookmarks icon in the menu bar.
Q: I am looking for access to old newspapers.
A: We are actively working towards building a digital archive of our newspapers that can be accessed from within the app. Until then we encourage you to directly contact Irish Independent or your local library.
Who are 'Reach' and what do they do?
Reach is a supply chain and logistics company specialising in subscriptions and home delivery. Its nationwide network means it is uniquely placed to provide an efficient and reliable service to Irish readers who would like a more convenient way to access their favourite newspapers and magazines.
How will I know how much is payable each month?
You'll see the price of each title clearly listed on the 'Choose Subscriptions' page when you sign up. Simply click one or more publication and the weekly total appears in the 'My Subscriptions' box - so you can keep track of your spend at a glance.
How do I pay for my subscriptions?
Payments can be made by debit or credit card.
When will I be billed?
Your account will be charged in advance at the start of each month.
Will the service cost the same amount each month?
No. You'll notice small fluctuations, up or down, from month to month.This is because the number of days in each calendar month varies and your bill will adjust accordingly to reflect this slight variation.
When can I expect to receive my first delivery?
In most cases, your first delivery will commence approximately 72 hours after you sign up for home delivery. For customers living in remote locations the lead-in time may be a little longer. Access to Digital Editions will be immediate once you receive your confirmation email.
Do I still pay when I'm away on holiday?
No. Your subscriptions can take a break too. Pause your deliveries by simply logging in to your account and clicking 'Add a Holiday'. Enter the departure and return dates and we'll suspend your subscriptions while you are away and ensure they re-commence on your return.
What happens if I have any issue accessing my editions?

What happens if I need to make a change or cancel the service?
You can amend or cancel an individual publication, or your entire subscription at any time. Simply contact our Customer Care Team who will talk you through the process step by step.
What is the Euro for Euros Special Offer
Independent News & Media have a special promotion that allows access to the digital editions (either Irish Independent and Sunday Independent or Herald and Sunday World) for only one euro for your first month subscription. After one month, you will be charged the full price (either €19.99 or €14.99) unless you cancel your subscription before it is due to be renewed.
