Your super Sunday World has teamed up with Heineken, the official beer of Electric Picnic to give one lucky reader the chance to win a pair of weekend camping tickets to Electric Picnic. Heineken is bringing the unique sounds of Amsterdam to a sold out crowd in Stradbally this September 2nd – 4th.

Known for its canals, picture-perfect bridges and historic gabled buildings, Amsterdam is also home to some of the best DJs and parties in the world. The Netherlands has contributed massively to the world dance music scene with more Dutch DJs holding the top spots in DJ Mag’s top 100 than any other nationality. This year, Heineken Sound Atlas travelled to Amsterdam to unearth the new sounds and music scene that’s emerging from the city. 

In recent years, hidden bars, record stores and the notorious Red Light Radio have been injecting culture into smaller districts all over the city. With over 180 different nationalities, Amsterdam is a melting pot of different cultures and traditions, which attribute to the Dutch capital’s thriving and unique music scene. Dance music is a massive deal in Amsterdam, with some of the biggest festivals and concerts in Europe taking place from the beginning of summer to the end of autumn. Throughout the Electric Picnic weekend, a selection of top Dutch and local DJs will bring the sounds of Amsterdam to the fields of Stradbally. The custom-built Sound Atlas structure will house the unique Amsterdam scene with a selection of immersive experiences. 

In addition to Amsterdam’s rich music scene, empty spaces all over the city are used for street art, concerts and outdoor exercise.Sound Atlas will recreate an Amsterdam barge and run games of Barge Ball throughout the Electric Picnic weekend. Teams can battle against each other to become the ultimate Barge Ball champion. The Sound Atlas space will be the ultimate beer garden by day before transforming into one of the biggest parties on-site by night. Amsterdam’s eclectic street food culture will be brought to life with a selection of Dutch delicacies on offer. The renowned Sound Atlas Photo Booth will also return with an Amsterdam makeover. 

Heineken Sound Atlas will bring the unique sounds of Amsterdam on tour around the country for music fans in September and October. Stay tuned to for exclusive updates on dates and locations. Amsterdam is the second of three exciting, new scenes to tour the country this year.
