It's run by a couple - Martin and Nuala Bealin. Martin's from Wicklow and Nuala's from Laois and you know they travel a lot because they manage to somehow pick up recipes form all corners of the planet. Recently they had loads of dishes from the South Pacific and Australia. It has a huge menu, it's got everything from Mongolian dishes to lobster to barbecued seafood on a skewer, really amazing food. It's definitely best to phone in advance as the place is always jammers. I've been there a lot but my favourite memories are the very late nights of storytelling! As I said, the hosts are seasoned travelers, and I have been there a few times chatting about everything from travelers' tales to the meaning of life. I also have great memories of the glow you would have having been in the sun all day. It is always busy with a great vibe, and the staff are all really friendly. You get a great ethnic mix of food and people alike because it's in Dingle you get tourists from all over the world from America to Japan to Germany. Of all the different dishes I have eaten there through the years I would have to say that the skewered monkfish and salmon done on the BBQ are my favourites. They are absolutely delicious. There are some fantastic TEAM: Wardrobe boss Frank Devereux a n d ( i n s e t ) our man T o m o n s e t restaurants in the area I love Sammy's beach restaurant in Inch and the Goat Street Café. The Global village is hard to beat because of the extensive menu there really is something for everybody's tastes. Martin and Nuala are gentle and genuine hosts, they are the kind of people to recommend a wine to go with certain dishes...they take a real interest in the food and the wine.
